Description
This trachyandesite was collected from the trachyte-latite occurrence at Durvun dert, located in the territory of Mandal-Ovoo soum, Umnugobi province, Mongolia and prepared as a candidate reference material by the Central Geological Laboratory, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. The material consists of a homogeneous powder, all of which passed through a 75 μm sieve.
The mineralogy of the sample (in g/100g) has been determined as 55 plagioclase, 15 potassium feldspar, 10 hornblende, 5 biotite, 5 hematite, 3 clinopyroxene, 3 pseudomorphs of chlorite and carbonate, 3 titanite, 1 apatite.
The material is available in units of 100 g packaged in a polyethylene bottle.
